Buttigieg’s Train Anthem

February 4, 2023 by Shey Dawg Leave a Comment

Inspired by the ineptitude of Secretary of Transportation’s response to the East Palestine train derailment.

To the tune from the rural show Petticoat Junction

(Verse 1)

In a town that’s slow, where the tracks are laid,
There’s a man named Pete, but his plans decayed.
Incompetence echoes through the hills,
A train wreck of leadership, with a pocketful of pills.

(Chorus)

Trainwreck of incompetence, rolling down the line,
Buttigieg’s mishaps, ain’t it quite a sign?
Tracks of confusion, leading us astray,
Incompetence looming, like a foggy day.

(Verse 2)

Broken bridges, and the ties that bind,
Buttigieg’s missteps, a fumble in his mind.
The station of progress, boarded up and closed,
As the train of hope rattles, nobody knows.

(Chorus)

Trainwreck of incompetence, rolling down the line,
Buttigieg’s mishaps, ain’t it quite a sign?
Tracks of confusion, leading us astray,
Incompetence looming, like a foggy day.

(Bridge)

Signals ignored, on a winding track,
Buttigieg’s stumbles, there’s no turning back.
Conductor lost, in the whistle’s wail,
Passengers stranded, tales of a fail.

(Verse 3)

The engine stutters, in the twilight’s glow,
Buttigieg’s legacy, in the sunset’s throw.
Incompetence echoes in the evening air,
As the train of progress crumbles in despair.

(Chorus)

Trainwreck of incompetence, rolling down the line,
Buttigieg’s mishaps, ain’t it quite a sign?
Tracks of confusion, leading us astray,
Incompetence looming, like a foggy day.

(Outro)

As the train of trust fades in the light,
Buttigieg’s name whispers through the night.
Incompetence reigns, a bitter refrain,
A journey of failure, on a slow, creaky train.
